Eadie Caldwell Parks

June 14, 1926 ~ August 17, 2005
Resided in:
Leicester, NC
Eadie Caldwell Parks, 79, of 62 Smith Road, Leicester, went home to be with the Lord that she loved so much and served faithfully over the years. She is now reunited with five of her precious children that had been waiting for her. Eadie was proud to be one of God’s children and delighted in introducing him to others. Eadie had a special love to share with everyone who knew her. Many children who are now grown still remember how kind and loving she was to them when she worked at Johnston School.
Mrs. Parks was born in Madison County and was a daughter of the late Richard and Fairy Payne Caldwell. She was retired from the Buncombe County School System and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harrison James Parks; one son, Lowell T. Parks and his wife Kathy of Asheville; one grandson Rodney Parks of Mars Hill; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Parks, Jacob Parks and Reagan Parks; four sisters Ella Mann and Mae Justice of Leicester, Lillian Turner of Hendersonville and Mildred Morrow of Charleston, SC; two brothers James Caldwell of Sandy Mush and Andy Caldwell of Leicester. She is also survived by Louise Turner, who was like a daughter to Mrs. Parks.
A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Garry L. Rogers and Eugene Turner and Mr. Robert James officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
The family expresses special thanks to her sister Ella Mann and her children for the care they gave to Mrs. Parks.

As her nephew, I remember her for gentleness, her cooking, the love for her family, and she is remembered by all for her devotion to prayer and service to the Lord through her church. Because of folks like her, I also am trusting God and His resurrection through the Lord Jesus Christ.
I REMEMBER MS. PARKS FROM MANY YEARS BACK WHEN I WAS A KID AT JOHNSTON ELEMENTARY. SHE ALWAYS AMAZED ME. SHE NEVER FROWNED, BUT ALWAYS SMILED AND NO MATTER WHAT US KIDS DID, SHE ALWAYS HAD A KIND WORD FROM THE HEART FOR US. MAY GOD HELP YOU ALL THROUGH THIS DIFFICULT TIME…GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND THANK YOU FOR SHARING SUCH A SPECIAL WOMAN WTIH SO MANY
