Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My wife, Kris & I met Iris through her daughter Gail during our evacuation from New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Gail & her husband, Steve put us up since our home was uninhabitable after the storm. We met Iris on a couple of family occasions over dinner and breakfast, etc. & she was such a sweet, intelligent, caring, upbeat, and wonderful person. You could tell her main joy was to connect with people and share stories & experiences with them. She also taught us about Madison County history and area culture.

  2. Sandy, Sorry to hear of your loss. May the good Lord give you peace and rest from your grieving.
    Jerry

  3. Sandy, Gail, Brenda & Families; Sorry to hear of your mother’s illness and passing. She was such a happy lady and I have so many good memories of time spent with all of you. Thinking of you and we’re gonna make it to Sandy Mush one of these days.
Jim and I send our Love and condolences.

  4. Im very sorry to hear of the Passing of Ms Teague Lunsford. I did not personally know her but from her obituary it sounds as if she lived a fullfilling life.
I believe she was the granddaughter of the civil war veteran Michael Teague also buried in Teague’s Chapel. Michael is my great-great grandfather Ambrose Teague’s older brother that moved to the Leicester section of Buncombe Co.
It is my hopes that the family be comforted by God and I hope that you have a joyous Holiday season. Please get in touch with me if you wish to discuss Teague Family History

  5. Her beautiful spirit and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all of us that loved her so dearly.

  6. The finest example of a Southern lady I’ve ever met and the wittiest by far. She will be loved and missed always.

  7. The last time my husband saw Aunt Iris, he hugged her and said, ‘Iris, you’re beautiful,’ and Iris said, ‘Kiffen, I believe we gave up ‘beautiful’ at sixty, but thank you.’ But oh she was beautiful…a lady with tremendous warmth, grace, love, and a humor we’ll never forget…We’ll miss her always. Love, Kiffen, Kerry, Flannery, Lucy, and Norah Madden-Lunsford xxoo

  8. My Dear Friend Cady and the rest of the Lunsford Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. The Lord Jesus has another saint in heaven to help watch over his Children on earth. I am sure you were blessed having the time with Iris. Celebrate her life and her accomplishments. My regards to your entire family.
    Love,
    JOE MERCURIO
