Nellie Schaffer Brown

Arden - Nellie Mae Schaffer Brown, of 411 Pocono Court, Arden, died Thursday, January 16, 2003, at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. Mrs. Brown was a native of Marietta, GA and was the daughter of the late Adam Peter and Nellie Kincaid Schaffer and wife of the late Frank Austin Brown, Jr. She retired as a ticket agent with Greyhound Continental Trailways with 25 years of service. She was a former member of First Alliance Church, for over 50 years, and at the time of her death was a member of the First Baptist Church of Asheville. She is survived by a daughter, Jeannie Seiler, and husband Richard, of Brevard; two grandsons, Richard D. Seiler, Jr., and wife JoAnne, of Monroe, LA, and David A. Seiler of Brevard; one great-granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Seiler; a brother, William “Bud” C. Scheaffer of Marietta, GA; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in the First Baptist Church of Asheville with the Rev. Dr. Guy Sayles and Rev. Donald Furniss officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Private entombment will be held at Lewis Memorial Park Mausoleum.
