Lucy Holcombe Davis, 82, of 5 Bee Ridge Road, Asheville, died Thursday, January 30, 2003, at a local hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Berry and Annie Holcombe Davis. She was retired from the VA Medical Center where she worked as a registered nurse and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Miss Davis is survived by two sisters, Virginia Penland of Macon, GA and Clara Hovis of Kingston, TN; a number of nieces and nephews including Carole Wright, Cheryl Henselder and Nancy Crosby.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Sunday at Riverside Cemetery with the Reverend Victor M. Hovis, III officiating. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

My name was Michelle Desper when I worked with Lucy at the VA on 3 East. She was a wonderful person and really made an impression on me. I was saddened to hear of her death. I learned alot from her and I will never forget her. She was a lovely person.
