Mary Anne Slattery

Mary Anne Miller Slattery, affectionately known as “Mary Love,” 95, of 7 Dogwood Ct., Candler, died Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Pisgah Manor Health Care. Mrs. Slattery was a native of Chicago, IL and was the daughter of the late Claire E. and Eva Mae Curtis Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Isaac Slattery, who died in 1981. Along with her husband, Mrs. Slattery ran a family care home. Mrs. Slattery is survived by two daughters, Wanda Joyce Wynes, and Debbie Williams and husband David, all of Candler; son, Robert W. Slattery and wife Faye, of Ruther Glen, VA; seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Elder Ted Graves officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Asheville Pisgah Academy Church School, 25 Academy Dr., Candler, NC, 28715.
