Wilma Margaret Lovelace Dreyman, 90, of 2 Woodland Drive, Asheville, died Sunday, December 24, 2006, at Magnolia Health Care Center. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Emmitt and Maggie Boyd Lovelace. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Rena Allen; a brother, Eugene Lovelace and a nephew, Kent Lovelace. Mrs. Dreyman grew up in Bushnell, NC where she taught in a one room schoolhouse. She later taught at Emma Elementary and retired from Candler Elementary. She was a member of the North Carolina Teachers Association. Survivors include her husband James W. Dreyman; a son, Mark Dreyman of Asheville; a daughter, Patricia Freeman Poe of Asheville; a granddaughter, Sharon Gregory; a great-grandson, Dalton A. Gregory; nieces and nephews, Betty Roberts, Portia Riddle and Karl Lovelace. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Academy Cemetery with the Reverend Donald N. Welborn officiating.

  2. As Mrs. Dreymans principal when she was at Candler School I will always remember her very quiet way
    of working with the reading students who came to her each day.
    She had a very calming way of interacting with them that made them feel important and successful.
    Goodbye to a wonderful lady.

  4. Mrs Dryman taught me in the 3rd grade in a little two-room school house in the Beaverdam community of Candler. Those memories are precious to me. I pray God will give you comfort in your time of sorrow.
