“Lou”, Phillip David Campbell, 56, of 36 Evelake Drive, Asheville, died Friday, December 29, 2006, at the Hospice Solace Center. Mr. Campbell was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Ellis Campbell and he was a self employed master carpenter. He is survived by his daughter, Kristin Campbell; his mother, “Bummy”, Lentie Bumgardner Campbell; his sister, Margot Wheeler and his brother, Danny Campbell and wife, Jeannie. His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Lora Cauble, Layne Cauble, Tony Hooker and Jerry Stamey officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  5. Our deepest sympathies to the Campbell family. I will always have the fondest memories of Lou, especially the summer vacations spent with my Asheville cousins when we were kids. I am so greatful he was able to come to our last family reunion. He will be missed.
