  6. I first became acquainted with C.W. while playing tennis in the late 1970s at the Asheville Racquet Club. Since that time, I have seen him on several occasions in downtown Asheville. His twin daughters, Kim and Kelly, also played tennis. I will miss seeing C.W. and his bright smile. He was a fine person, a good Father, as well as being a talented tennis player and friend.

  7. I have worked with C.W. for the past 10 months and was blessed to know such a wonderful person. He always had a smile on his face. Thoughts and prayers to Sheila. He will be missed.

  8. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. C.W. or we used to call him ‘Dub’ was one of the most honest people I’ve ever known, an excellent father and proud grandfather. Peace to you.

  9. Although I didn’t know C.W. well, I worked ‘next door’ at Beverly-Grant for years. He was always a favorite with the entire office, and will be warmly remembered. Our prayers are with your family. May God bless and comfort each of you.

  11. CW befriended me when I was a new agent at Beverly-Hanks ten years ago. He even shared one of his listings with me to help give me a start in real estate here in Asheville. He’s been a good friend ever since…a warm, caring man who was always there for his friends. He will be missed by many, many people.

  12. We were so saddened to learn of C.W.’s unexpected death. We will always remember his ready smile and quick wit. Our deepest sympathies go out to all who loved him.

  13. I am saddened by C W’s untimely passing. Since I first met him in high school to this day, I have never heard anything but good about him. May the God of all peace give His peace to all of you who loved him so much.

  14. CW, Sheila and I had clustered desks in the new Beverly-Hanks bullpen. The spark was there, and I enjoyed watching it blossom into romance. CW and I both used the telephone a lot, and tended to raise our voices when on stage, so we overheard each other and became friends as we shared experiences and a few hard times. We loved to razz each other, especially in bragging about our offspring. He was a great guy; a good, honest neighbor; and a superb real estate agent. After I retired and he went to Biltmore Park, we rarely met, but we always enjoyed seeing one another. I’ll miss CW, and wish Sheila well.

  15. I first met C.W. when we were in the Asheville Jaycees a few years ago. We got to know him better when he lived on Maney Avenue in the late 80’s. Needless to say, we are shocked to hear that he is gone. He will be missed a lot.

  16. Dear Sheila and Family,Our deepest sympathy to each one of you in this time of sorrow. One might would want to question why God would take from us our loved one and leave us to grieve his untimely passing. But as he tells us in his holy word, there is a time to be born and a time to die. And we must rejoice in the knowledge that one day we will see him again in that land where there is no parting, no more pain, no more sorrow, that place not seen by man ,that place called Heaven. Our love and prayers are with you!!

  17. My deepest sympathy to the family of C.W. It was a total shock to learn of his passing.
I worked with C.W. @ WLOS-TV for many years and bought my first home from him. We kept in touch throughout the years, seeing each other @ the Spa and various other locations. He will be missed.
Keep the happy thoughts and loving memories of your time with him. And find comfort in knowing that he is with the Lord.

  18. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Craven family in this sad time. We have fond memories of C.W. both on and off the tennis court. His life was certainly too short. May we all find peace in this difficult time.

  19. Dear Sheila: You have been in our thoughts and prayers since we learned of CW’s untimely death. While no words can fill the void in your life, please know others share your loss.

  23. I am a real estate attorney and worked with C.W. on many real estate transactions, particularly Stonebridge Subdivision. He was a wonderful, caring man and I will truly miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this most difficult time.

  24. I was shocked and saddened to learn, when I returned from out of town late last Thursday, of CW’s untimely passing. CW was a great guy and good friend. I enjoyed playing tennis with him over the years and having him over to throw horseshoes. I loved his desire to compete and his great smile and sense of humor. He will truly be missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. God bless all of you and may peace be with you in this difficult time.
