Evelyn Rae Wieland, 85, died Sunday, March 18, 2007.
A native of Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Sadie McKinn Brewer and wife of the late Rudolph Wieland, who died in 1985.
Mrs. Wieland was a former resident of Florida and Utah before moving to Arden Woods, nine years ago. In Miami, she and her husband were very active with their Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ronald Morton of Asheville; their daughter Pam Dover and her children Lauren and Dexter Gleason; and by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Beth Wieland of Duck Creek Village, Utah, their son, John Wieland and his son Sean.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Miami, Florida.
The family would like to thank the staff of the WNC Baptist Home for their loving care.
I just wanted to offer my condolences. I was a CNA at the Baptist home for a few months, Mrs. Wieland was one of the residents on my hall. I always loved taking care of her, she was always so sweet and loving. She always had a smile,and a hug for me. I grew really attached to her and loved her dearly. I am so sorry for you loss.
