Fannie Bell Smith, 73, of 26 Oregon Avenue, Asheville, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Smith was born in Transylvania County and was a daughter of the late Carl and Bessie Woods Queen.
She is survived by a daughter, Nadine Trammell of Asheville; a son, Gary Shipman of Rehoboth, DE; two sisters, Dorothy Griffin of Brevard and Leola Hilton of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Darrell Smith of Brevard; a grandson, Brent Smith and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Robinson officiating.
Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

I miss you Fannie Belle. You were my Senior Companion for many years. I love and miss you much and will see you on the other side one day. My prayers are with the family and friends of a Wonderful Lady whom the LORD GOD let me have time with here on Earth. It was surely a blessing to me.
