Its with sadness that we read of the death of Bill. He was a good guy. His sense of humor was wonderful. We can see his smile now. Our recollections of Bill and the family go back to the days of East Asheville Youth Activities. Those days are gone, but not the memories. Thanks Bill, you will be missed tremendously!

So sorry to hear about your loss. He was a good friend.
I will be at the funeral on Friday. I enjoyed Bill so much as we talked in the ED. He loved home, hard work, and the people around him. We shared about the Christmas tree farm and the changes that come with life. He always let me know he was OK…David Blackmon, Chaplain

As a volunteer at Mission, I chatted with Bill every week for seven years. I heard about you and your substituting and the trips you took to your get-away.

I worked with Bill for the past 12 years at the hospital. We have shared good times and bad with all the many patients and traumas that came in our doors from day to day. Bill was a great friend and co-worker. I loved hearing stories about dance competitons and the vacations that you both had a chance to take together and the love for his children and grandchildren. I know you are greiving right now, but please remember all the good times that you shared and know that he has touched so many lives while he was here with us. I know he is trying out his wings now in heaven and he continues to watch over each of you. I also want to say that I was proud to be one of his pallbearers. It made me feel good to do one last thing for him and to make sure that his journey home was a safe one. Charlene, please let me know if I can do anything for you and your family. I will keep you and yours in my prayers. Love you-
