Gladys Mae Jarvis Parham, 86, formerly of 31 Green Oak Road, Asheville, died Friday, June 29, 2007, at Asheville Manor Health Care Center. Mrs. Parham was born in Del Rio, TN, and was a daughter of the late William and Sue Addie Sisk Jarvis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Parham, a son, Michael, and a brother, Billy Jarvis. She was a former employee of Burlington Industries and had attended Reynolds Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Sue Penland and her husband, Jackie, of Asheville, Pat Lail and her husband, Duane, of Leicester, and Billie Jo Massie and her husband, Bill, of Candler; sons, Gerald Dean Parham and his wife, Dianna, of Candler and Thomas Alan Parham and his wife, Nadine, of Asheville; three sisters, Marie Young, Betty Harris, and Nannie B. Jarvis, all of Asheville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. The family will greet friends following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801, or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
