  1. Dianne, Mrs. Cole was my fifth grade teacher at Venable School. She was a wonderful teacher and a great friend to all of the children. She always told us little antedotes about her wonderful Dianne. We all loved her and tried very hard to excel in class. She will be missed by all who were fortunate to have spent time with her. What a great teacher and wonderful person.

  2. Dear Cole family,

I was so sorry to learn of Mrs. Cole’s death. She was my 4th grade teacher at Venable during the 1961-62 school year. I can still picture our classroom and our good times there. Because of my wonderful elementary school teachers I became an educator myself. I have just retired after 30+ years as a school counselor with most of that time spent at Erwin High School in (Leicester). Had I known that Mrs. Cole lived on Newfound I would have contacted her. I thought a great deal of her and just wanted you to know that she was certainly an influence on my life.

    You are in my thoughts.

    With fondest memories,
    Sharon Waugh

  3. Mabel called me granddaughter, and showed nothing but love to all those around her. She was an example to me of what a strong woman of faith was. I find peace in knowing she is with her Lord, her beloved husband, and her dear grandson.

  4. Aunt Mabel, I remember that you tried to teach me how to crochet. I’m sorry I was such a poor student but you were an excellent example of character to all of us. Tell Uncle Bruce, Papaw Jay and Aunt Faye hello for me.

  5. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Ms. Cole. We will greatly miss Ms. Cole as she had become a part of our Aston Park Family. She was loved by everyone: staff, residents, visitors and volunteers. Ms. Cole always had a wonderful smile, a kind word, a helpful hand and a positive attitude.

  6. Mabel was such a great person. She showed me and my girls so much kindness and I will miss her more than anything. She was a kind and gentle person and I know in my heart that Heaven just got a little sweeter and I plan to see her there someday. I love and miss you Mabel you will always be in my heart.

  7. You have touched many hearts in your life and you will always be remembered for your gentleness. I loved visiting you on summer vacations and staying overnight. The thought of your homemade goodies will never be forgotten. Until we meet again, love,

  8. Mabel will always be remembered for her sweetness and that precious smile. My children loved her as if she were their own grandmother. Thank you Mabel for showing us your sweet ways and sharing your love with us. I know Bruce will be glad to see you. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family in this time of sorrow.
Love, Shannon, Lora, Pressley and Andrew Morgan.

  9. What a wonderful lady! We are blessed to have known her. God bless you Dianne and family.

  10. We really enjoyed spending time with Mrs. Cole when she would come to Mission, Tx. She was warm and sincere in all she said and did. She had the prettiest smile. She also, most importantly, loved Jesus! We will miss her. Mrs. Taylor, you will always be in our families prayers. We nothing but love for you and your family. Love, B.J., Mia, William and Makenna

  11. Dianne and family. I remember knowing Mabel all my life and the wonderful years growing up in Grace Methodist Church. She was one of my mother’s dearest friends, and the first thing I thought of when I learned she had passed on was that they would be reunited in Heaven. What a wonderful assurance. God bless and comfort you. Barbara

  12. Mrs. Cole was a special person and teacher. I am proud to have been one of her students in the 5th grade at Venable.
