Ronnie Ray “Hippie” Piercy, 58, of Fletcher, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 3, 2003, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Piercy was born in Haywood County and was a son of the late William Claude and Lena Modena Chambers Piercy. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Luellen Cochran. He was retired from Cranston Print Works and loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Lee Dean Piercy; a son, Tyron Ray Piercy of Fletcher; four sisters, Joanne Harrin of Asheville, his twin, Bonnie Faye George of Palmyra, VA, Colotta Jeane Suggs of Richmond, VA, and Sandra Morgan of Canton; two grandchildren, Sabrina Ann Piercy and Alexander Ray Michaels, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Clarence Taylor officiating. His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

  2. I am so sorry to hear about Ronnie ‘Hippie’. I worked with him at Cranston for many years. I am not able to attend because I am going through Chemo. I will remember you in prayer. Elmer Owens
