Ronald E. Youngblood, Sr.
Fletcher – Ronald Eugene Youngblood, Sr., 57, died unexpectedly Friday, October 19, 2007.
A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of Betty Sue Reagan Youngblood of Fletcher and of the late Billy Lee “Bub” Youngblood.
Ronnie graduated from TC Roberson High School in 1968. He worked as a truck driver for many years before quitting to spend more time with his family. He then went to work for Beverly Grant Construction and most recently was self employed owning his own excavating company. Ronnie coached for South Buncombe Little League and TC Roberson Youth Football for many years before becoming an assistant football and wrestling coach at TC Roberson where he coached for 8 years, from 1986 – 1992.
Ronnie was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Bagwell Youngblood; two daughters, Michelle Maynor, and her husband Teddy, of Asheville and Tracy Millar and her husband Brett of Fletcher; a son, Ron Youngblood Jr. of Asheville; six grandchildren, Angela James, Kaylee and Shelby Millar, Stacy, T.J. and Jacob Maynor; two sisters, Betsy Frady, and her husband Ronnie, of Fletcher and Joy McMinn, and her husband Billy, of Fletcher; one brother Reagan D. Youngblood of Fletcher and several nieces and nephews who were dear to him.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The family will receive friends following the service until 7:00 pm.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Building 1, Asheville, NC 28801 or to the TC Roberson Athletic Department, 250 Overlook Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of the arrangements.

I didn’t know Ronnie, but I knew His sister Betsy and her family. Candy use to bathe our handicapped daughter.
