Robert Thomas Neighbors, 51, of 25 Howland Road, Asheville, died Sunday, June 20, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Neighbors was born in Newport News, VA, and was a son of the late Maurice Neighbors. He graduated from Asheville High School and Wright State University in Dayton, OH, and was an avid reader. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his mother, Gladys B. House of Asheville; one sister, Gloria Lunsford and her husband Dallas of Belmont; a niece Melanie Lunsford of Raleigh, and a nephew, Dallas Lunsford, a student at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to ABCCM, 24 Cumberland Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.

Was so saddened to learn of Bobby’s passing.I always thought a lot of him and had been praying for him. I lost my mother in law and we buried her on that same Sunday. I can only share the comforting words of knowing that he is finally at peace with no more suffering. My heart felt prayer will continue for your family. My family grew up with Bobby as he was a close friend during those high school days.
