Olive Jones McFee

Olive Jones McFee, 85, of Candler, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Pisgah Manor Health Care. A native of Wallasey, England, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Hannah Walker Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John William McFee, who died in 2007, a brother, Leslie Jones, and two step-sons, Bart McFee and Alan McFee. Mrs. Jones was a retired secretary from the dental office of Dr. M.W. Carpenter. She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church where she was very active in the Episcopal Church Women and the choir. Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Millie Jones of Asheville, Margie Morgan of Charleston and Vivian Stephenson of Canton; niece, Barbara Fagan of Rock Hill, SC; nephew, Philip Jones and wife Cindy of Meadowview, VA; great-niece, Lesley Fagan and her daughter, Anna, of Rock Hill; cousins, Barbara Hall and Sheila Church; and step-children, Steve E. McFee and Linda Jones and her husband, Don, all of Knoxville. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at St. George's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Fr. Tom Brackett officiating. Burial will follow at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. George's Episcopal Church, 1 School Road, Asheville, NC 28806. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting with arrangements.
