Kolman F. Kobar, 91, of 5 Reynolds Place, Asheville, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Mr. Kobar was born in Scranton, PA and was a son of the late Fabian and Gizella Kobar. He was also preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. Mr. Kobar was an Army veteran of WW II. He was retired from the US Postal Service and was a member of St. Eugene's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha Eve Levanavitch Kobar; one daughter, Julie Westman and husband Ron, of Richmond, British Columbia, Canada; one son, John Kobar and wife Mechelle, of Asheville; and a granddaughter, Allison Christine Kobar. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. John Schneider at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Eugene's Catholic Church. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Eugene's Catholic Church, 72 Culvern Street, Asheville, NC 28804.

    I was sad to hear of Uncle Kelly’s passing. He was always a favorite uncle.
