JOHN W. CORDEIRO
John William Cordeiro, 91, of 10 Secluded Trail, Candler, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008.
Mr. Cordeiro was born February 28, 1917, in Tiverton, RI, and was the son of the late Frank and Mary Medeiros Cordeiro. He was preceded in death by sisters Mary Cordeiro and Louise Wilbur, and brother Frank Cordeiro.
He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II, had a pilot license and was a member of AOPA. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic.
His family include his wife, Gladys Dodge Bickford Cordeiro; children, Joan Hetrick and husband, David, of Candler, Judy Calhoun and husband, Ed, of Colebrook, NH, John Cordeiro of Deltona, FL, William Cordeiro and wife, Kioka, of Pensacola, FL, David Bickford of Grant, FL, Lane Bickford and wife, Beth, of Nashua, NH, Ronald Bickford and wife, Lesa, of Pisgah Forest, NC, and Jon Bickford and wife, Terry, of Yarmouth, ME; sisters, Dorothy Rego of Fremont, CA, and Lillian Hawe of Cameron Park, CA; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Thursday at St. Eugene's Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting with the arrangements.
I am keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers Mrs. Cordeiro and Joan. In the coming months I wish you comfort and peace at this difficult time. As is said in prayer at the time of death ~
