Delon Roy Warren, 75, of 1631 Pisgah Hwy., Candler, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 15, 2009, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. Mr. Warren was a son of the late Roy and Nellie J. Warren. He was preceded in death by his faithful, loving wife and companion of 49 years, Kathryn Clark Warren. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Clifton "Toot," Dane, Joe, James "Babe," and Lonnie "Biggie." Mr. Warren was a retired farmer who loved the outdoors. He was a devout Christian, and attended Hominy Valley Independent Church. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Ramsey and husband Don; son, James Delon Warren; three grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Amy Elizabeth Capps, Rebecca Lynn Warren, and Benjamin James Warren; sisters, Barbara Briggs and husband Harold, Londa Young and husband Kenneth, and Henrietta Hoglen and husband Jim; brothers, Denlow "Bunt" Warren and wife Wanda, Rollins Warren and wife Beverly, and Vaughn Warren and wife Leslie; and many special nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Warren will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Upper Room Church, formerly Pisgah United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Austin Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. Also, a special thank you to all of his caregivers throughout his illness.

  5. I didn’t know Delon well, but we talked some at church and i know he was a good man who missed his wife terribly. Now he can see and be with her forever and ever, with no more pain.. God bless the Warren family
