Lawrence A. Smith

Lawrence Allen Smith, 88, of 853 Emma Road, Asheville, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Mr. Smith was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Canie L. and Elsie Gaddy Smith. He was an Army veteran of WW II and was a retired building supply salesman. He is survived by two daughters, Loretta Smith of Anthem, AZ and Joan Hadley of SanMaros, CA; one son, Larry Smith, Jr. of Washington State; and one brother, Leonard "Bud" Smith and his wife, Ruth of Asheville. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Smith Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Perry officiating.
