Darrell regularly attended the annual Brevard Reunion until his declining years and was delighted to see his nieces, nephews and other extended family. One of his greatest wishes was that all would prepare themselves for the Grand Reunion in Heaven.
A service of worship and praise, giving thanks to God for allowing his family the blessing of his presence here on earth for ninety years will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday at Skyland First Baptist Church. The Reverend David Honeycutt will officiate the service with others participating. Interment will be in Shepherd Memorial Park immediately following the service.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
Memorials may be made to either Skyland First Baptist Church Building Fund or to the John F. Keever Solace Center. Dear Brevard Family,
I am sadden by the loss of Darrell, yet my heart rejoices as he has gone to be with my mamaw and all his family before him. He was a true inspiration in my whole families life. He was a wonderful pastor and uncle as I was growing up. I loved Sudays after church when
him and Jeanette lived in the little white house behind the church, what wonderful memories I have of that time. He was a true Man of GOD and I know there is a celebration going on in heaven. My prayers are with each and every one of you, may God give you peace at this time.
Richard and Nellie we are sorry to hear of the passing of your father. We hope that you can lay your sorrow aside and enjoy the many good memories of him as he live.
We missed you folks at the reunion and we thought that illness was the reason.
Our thoughts are with each of you.
Sincerely,
Janet and Larry Jones
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

To The Family:
I have frequently thought of you and your family since we left Asheville and moved to W-S. I was honored to have a brief chat with Rev Brevard when in Asheville a couple of years ago. Cliff and I loved SBC and your family. Now, DK and Cliff can enjoy each other in Heaven. God Bless each of you.
Ron and family,

Brevard Family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy. Reverend Brevard united my wife and me in marriage thirty eight years ago this coming October 8. He really believed in making things that last. May God bless you all.

I have thought fondly of Rev. Brevard through the years. He was the Pastor who baptized me, the voice I heard every Sunday morning, and the friend who I could always talk to. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family as he makes his way home.
Our family is thinking of you during this time. Rev. Brevard will be missed by a great many people whose lives he touched.
What a blessing this man was to me when I went to Skyland Baptist. He was a awesome person with a great legacy. Bless you Mr. Brevard, bless you.

Sharing in the loss of your loved one. Nay Ann Brevard Turnberg
Rev. Brevard and his entire family have been a close part of the Davidson family for 70+ plus years. As a man of God and true shepherd of his flock – Rev. Brevard prayed with me the Sinner’s Prayer at the alter as I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior over 35 years ago. He has and will always remain in my heart as a very special servant of God.
My thought and prayers are with all of you during this difficult passage. I’m sorry I could not be there for the service.
Love,
Joan
Rev.Brevard was a very dear friend to my dad who was raised up with him and also to my grandfather who lived across from Rev. Brevard’s father. I have not been to Hendersonville in many years but Rev. Brevard will be forever in my memory.
Dear Richard and Nellie,
We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers during this time of loss and sadness.
