(Ret.), 90, of Asheville, died Friday, September 4, 2009 at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community.
Lt. Col. Misiewicz was born December 6, 1918 in Worcester, MA. He was a son of the late Konstanty and Anna Misiewicz. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Lydia Mieczkowski Misiewicz, who died in 1981 and by a younger brother, Stanley Misiewicz.
Lt. Col. Misiewicz was a graduate of Classical HS in Worcester, MA and studied at Northeastern University and Harvard Business School. In his youth, he owned and operated Chet's Market on Perry Avenue in Worcester. He later was a sales representative for Westmoreland Sterling Silver, the US Envelope Company and Westvaco. He enlisted as an Army officer in the Army Air Corps during WWII and retired as a Lt. Col. in the Air Force Reserves. The "Colonel", as he was known by the family, left Massachusetts and retired to homes in Bradenton, FL and Brevard, NC. He was a most devoted husband, who loved his family, fishing, golf, opera and traveling. He was a rare gift from God.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Miriam Misiewicz, of Asheville and her two children, a son, Dr. Dana Christianson and his wife, Cathy, and their three children, Jessie, Eric and David of Asheville and a daughter, Linda Prinsen and her husband, Clay, and their three children, Matheu, Allan and Cleyton of Langdon, NH. He is also survived by his three children from his first marriage, son, Roger Misiewicz and his wife, Carol, of Pickering, Ontario, Canada and their four children, David, Zoe, Kira and Daniel; son, Reverend Chester J. Misiewicz, Jr., pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Worcester, MA and daughter, Barbara Misiewicz Wrenn, Of Sutton, MA and her two children, Lisa and Rose Anna, and two great-grandsons, Brayden Frusher and Connor Wood.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2009 in the St. Giles Chapel at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community with Father Adrian Porras officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel following the service. In addition, a mass will be held in Worcester, MA with the Rev. Chester J. Misiewicz officiating for his father. Half of the Colonel's ashes will be buried in Notre Dame Cemetery in MA with his first wife.

Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
Tears well up when i think of all the memories. Grandpa you will be truly missed.I will live my life displaying your life lessons of hard work and honesty. I will also raise my son to follow in his great-grandpa’s footsteps. When i see you in heaven i hope to receive one of your famous two dollar bills. I love you. In all of the memories, good times and bad, you are a constant. From soccer games, to camp, singing, dancing, lobsters and laughs you are truly an icon and someone all should look up to. Your warm smile, caring eyes and a style all of your own will never be forgotten and terribly missed. Sing me the ‘3 Fishies’ song when I need it most! I love you, your little sweetheart.
