Flat Rock – Frances Donoho Murray, 83, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009. A native of Morganton, she was a former resident of Asheville and Brooksville, FL.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Hearn Donoho and wife of the late Sherman Scarborough and the late Thomas Q. Murray. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Tom J. Donoho and her sister, Ernestine Aldridge. She lived with her niece, Susan Donoho.
Mrs. Murray was a graduate of Lee Edwards High School and Cecil's Business College. She worked for Dr. Leon Feldman for 33 years and for Suncoast Urology in Brooksville, Fla. She was a PWM and lifetime member of the Brooksville, O.E.S., PWHP of White Shrine of Jerusalem and PRM of Order of Amaranth. She was a member of the Mariner United Methodist Church in Brooksville.
Mrs. Murray is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Taylor of Fayetteville, NC and Julia M. Leacock of Brooksville, FL; four grandchildren, Zackary l. Taylor of Fayetteville, Sherman S. Reed of Asheville, Steven E. Leacock of Brooksville and Mary Frances Leacock of St. Petersburg, FL; several nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, 13402 Montour St., Brooksville, FL 34613.
Mary Fran’s Family, Frannie was in the 408 member Class of 43 at Lee Edwards and makes 219 known deceased in our class. We are never ready in life to lose our loved ones and the only comfort comes from our Faith in the Sovereignty of God and the manifested concern caring friends. Dear Cheri & Julie & Family, I just now saw while sending another condolence your Mother’s picture and knew it was her.I have been thinking about her and thought she still lived in Florida.I wish I could have known how close she was. I am so sorry for your loss.I have wonderful memories of her taking us camping and always welcoming me in her home.Cheri if you have the time I wish you would update me on everything.I would love to see you and talk to you and Julie.Take care of each other and please except my deepest sympathy.
