Frances Donoho Murray

Flat Rock – Frances Donoho Murray, 83, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009. A native of Morganton, she was a former resident of Asheville and Brooksville, FL. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Hearn Donoho and wife of the late Sherman Scarborough and the late Thomas Q. Murray. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Tom J. Donoho and her sister, Ernestine Aldridge. She lived with her niece, Susan Donoho. Mrs. Murray was a graduate of Lee Edwards High School and Cecil's Business College. She worked for Dr. Leon Feldman for 33 years and for Suncoast Urology in Brooksville, Fla. She was a PWM and lifetime member of the Brooksville, O.E.S., PWHP of White Shrine of Jerusalem and PRM of Order of Amaranth. She was a member of the Mariner United Methodist Church in Brooksville. Mrs. Murray is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Taylor of Fayetteville, NC and Julia M. Leacock of Brooksville, FL; four grandchildren, Zackary l. Taylor of Fayetteville, Sherman S. Reed of Asheville, Steven E. Leacock of Brooksville and Mary Frances Leacock of St. Petersburg, FL; several nieces and a nephew. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, 13402 Montour St., Brooksville, FL 34613.
