A memorial service for Harold B. Ligon, M.D., who died Monday, July 27, 1998, will be at 2 P.M. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Pete Peery and the Rev. Dr. Eugene Linton, Jr., interim pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville.

Dr. Ligon was a native of Charlotte and was the son of the late Rev. John Franklin Ligon, Sr. and the late Annie Downs Kilgore Ligon.  He was a graduate of Clemson University and of the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston.

He is survived by his wife, Catharine Ligon; three daughters, Annette Kirk and her husband Philip of Wendell, Harriet Meyer and her husband Joseph of Arlington, VA and Eugenia Ligon of Newland; a step-daughter, Catharine Nazemi and her husband Mike; three grandchildren, Morgan and Sam Kirk and Spencer Turbyfill; a step-granddaughter, Anna Catharine Nazemi and a brother and his wife, the Rev. Cheves K. and Margaret Ligon of Myrtle Beach, SC.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to one's favorite charity.
