Funeral services for Carter Brown will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Fred Carpenter will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brown was born in Buncommbe County and was a member of a pioneer Leicester family. He was a son of the late G. Franklin and Leona Plemmons Brown and was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of various dairy organizations and was a emember of the Newfound Community Development Club. He had been recognized as the owner of a 'Century Farm', which is one that has been in the same family for more than 100 years.

He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church where he was an usher, trustee, and past-president of the Methodist Men.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Christine Wilson Brown; a son Dennis and his wife, Linda; a sister, Ophelia Duckett, and two granddaughters, Kristi and Lori Brown.
