Earlene Swanson Hylton, 79 of Candler,
died Tuesday, October 20, 1998, at her
residence.
She was a native and lifelong resident of
Buncombe County and was the daughter of
the late Earl and Etta Sue Young Swanson
and the wife of Malon B. 'Hoot' Hylton who
died in 1984. She retired from American Enka
corporation and was a lifelong member of
Piney Mountain United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-
law Ben and Andrea Hylton of College Park,
Md., five grandchildren Jina Frye, Tracy,
Donna, Benji and Joe Hylton and fourteen
great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 pm Saturday at Piney
Mountain United Methodist Church with the
Rev. H.D. Houck officiating. Interment will be
in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Groce
Funeral Home Friday from 7 until 9 PM where
the body will remain until placed in the
church 30 minutes before the service.
Memorials may be made to one's favorite
charity.
