Chester Thomas Day

July 24, 1925 ~ September 24, 1999
Mountain Ridge Wellness Center, Ridgecrest.
Mr. Day was born in Gamber, MD, and was a son of the
late John E. and Eliza Annie Edmonson Day. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and was a former
driver for Shipley Transfer Co. in Baltimore, MD.
He is survived by his wife, Travis Oden Day; three sons, David Day of Fairview, Thomas Day of
Westminster, MD, and James Day of Asheville; a brother, Richard Day of Miami, FL; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 5:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. James I. Walker
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, MD.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.

I am president of the USS ULVERT M. MOORE (DE-442) Reunion Group and served with C.T. Day during World War II. Emory Wildasin, Manchester, MD, has just informed us of his death. Sympathy is extended from our group to his widow and family.
