Jack B. Minyard, 75, of Woodland Terrace, Asheville, died on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at his home. A native of Buncombe Co., Mr. Minyard was a son of the late Cora Crisp Minyard. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Redmon Minyard; sister, Doris Grant; and brothers, Dewey Lee, Jimmy, and Mickey Minyard. Mr. Minyard had retired from GM where he worked as their stock keeper for 27 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his daughters, Marilyn Ann Aidif "Doe Doe," and husband Rick, of Mt. Morris, MI, and Jackie Sue Mauer "The Kid," and husband Kim, of Mooresboro, NC; sisters, Mary Woodruff, of Waynesville, and Maxine Stines, of Asheville; grandchildren, Jamie Wright (Andy), Jimmy Aidif (fiancée, Samantha Dekalita), Krystal "Meathead" Forney (Tyler "Dude"); great-grandchildren, Codie Aidif, Bailey Jane, Allie "OOP" Wright, and Alexis, Richard, and Landan Aidif; special friend, Doris Watts; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Bob and Fred; and his best companion, Bowser Boy. A funeral service for Mr. Minyard will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave., with Pastor Neil Murray and special friend, Preacher Marc Penley officiating. Burial will follow at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors performed by the Buncombe Co. Veteran's Council Memorial Team. His family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. His family gives special thanks to CarePartners Hospice for their care. Memorials may be made to Woodland Terrace Baptist Church, 31 Woodland Terrace, Asheville, NC 28806, or to a charity of one's choice.

    for the loss of your Dad. He came to see us when he came back from Fla. Jack has been a friend for many years. Just seems like yesterday we were going to Jan’s funeral. He spoke of her on his visit and he missed her so bad. Very sorry for you lost. Linda and CL

  2. I’am very sorry to hear of Jack’s passing.We used to live in his trailer park years ago,he was very good to us.My oldest son was 4 at the time even named his dog Jack.Take care and God bless.

    I know you wont be able to see this in person but I know you are reading and watching everything I am doing right now.But anyways I love you so much and I didn’t want you to go yet but I know your not suffering anymore. But I will always remember the good memories we had together:) Well i guess I will see you again one day and I hope you tell everybody up there we said hey and we love them. well I am going now.
