Bonnie Wells Woody, 86, of 223 Hogeye Road, Leicester, died Wednesday, February 14, 2000, at the Rickman Nursing Center of the Baptist Retirement Home.

Mrs. Woody, born in Buncombe County, was a daughter of the late Commodore and Addie Israel Wells. She was married to James Dewey Woody who died in 1993. She was a member of Jones Valley Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, James Woody of Leicester; four sisters, Pearl Ingle, Maude Sharpe and Mae Freeman of Leicester and Edna Ditter of Sanford, NC; two brothers, Russell Wells and James Wells, both of Leicester; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday at Jones Valley Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Gillespie and Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 9 pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
