Norma Buckmaster Setzer, 72, of 36 Peace Street, Asheville, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Center.

Mrs. Setzer was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Jay and Mary (Mamie) Miller Hyder. She was married to Willis Setzer who died in 1992. She was a former employee of A&P Supermarket and Dave’s Salvage and was a member of the WNC Seniors Bowling League.

Surviving are one daughter, Dianne Young of Asheville; two sons, Greg Buckmaster of Asheville and Edward Buckmaster of Hawley, PA; a sister, Verna Padgett of Asheville; three grandchildren, Dennis Young and Lisa Young of Asheville and Chris Young of Reno, NV, and one great-granddaughter, Kimberly Young of Davie, FL.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Donald N. Welborn officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the residence.
