Evangeline ''Eve'' Tolley McCanless

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late William Dock and Lillie Mae Wilson Tolley and wife of the late Thomas S. McCanless, Sr., who died in 1983. Mrs. McCanless was a retired employee of Buncombe County working as fiscal coordinator with the Job Training Program.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Henderson and her three children, Matthew, Katherine and Edward Henderson of Fairview; two sons, David McCanless of Greenville, SC and Thomas S. McCanless, Jr. of Greenville and his three children, Emily, Jacob and Lauren McCanless and her two sisters, Pauline Wright and Martha Burns, both of Charleston, SC.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am Thursday at Lewis Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Dorri Sherrill.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
