W. Douglas Buckner

A native of Madison County, he was the son of Lucille B. Buckner of Asheville and the late J.P. Buckner. He attended Mars Hill High School and was a Navy veteran. He was a former car salesman and more recently was in the trucking business.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter and her husband, Kelly and Josh Lunsford of Asheville; a son and his wife, Timothy and Shanna Buckner of Asheville; a sister and her husband, Ann B. and Robert Barron of Walnut, CA; a paternal aunt, Johncilea Tilly of Etowah; a maternal aunt, Sandra Talley of Charlotte and a maternal uncle, Carl L. Buckner of Charlotte.

His family will receive friends from 7 - 9 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

Private services will be Saturday at Forest Lawn Mausoleum with the Revs. Brad Parker and Tim Lolley officiating.
