Gus M. Devlin, 73, of 75 Wendover Road, Malvern Hills, Asheville, died Friday, October 6, 2000, in an Asheville hospital.

Mr. Devlin was a native of Greenwood, SC, and was a son of the late John Roddy and Eugenia McCaslan Devlin. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He was retired from Enka/BASF.

He was an active member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and deacon, a member of the 60 Plus-or-Minus Bible Study Group, and Sunday School teacher. He was also the church Financial Secretary for twenty years and a former vice-president of the Men of the Church.

He is survived by his wife, Tweedie Ann Durst Devlin; one daughter, Ann Foster Devlin Marriner and her husband John of Atlanta, GA; one son, James Durst Devlin of Decatur, GA; one granddaughter, Sarah McCaslan Marriner of Atlanta; two sisters, Clara Robeson of Greenwood and Jean Foster Cook of Durham; and one brother, John R. Devlin of Greenville, SC.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 pm Monday at Oak Forest Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Barry Lambert and James E. Aydelotte officiating.
