Eugene ''Gene'' Robinson, 74, of 205 Abby Circle, died Friday, October 20, 2000 at the Hospice Solace Center.

A native of Haywood County, Mr. Robinson was the son of the late Dallas Robinson and Lilly Gillette Robinson and adoptive mother, Frances E. Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II and was the office/service manager for Rogers Plumbing and Heating for 53 years.

Mr. Robinson was a member of Biltmore United Methodist Church, Mt. Hermon Masonic Lodge #118, the American Legion Post #2, and the VFW post # 891.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Beulah W. Robinson, one daughter, Linda Neely and her husband, Walter Neely, Jr. of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Wally Neely and Ellen Neely, and her husband, Matt Eller; two brothers, Edgar Robinson and Earl Robinson, both of Baltimore, MD, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 23, at 11:00 AM at Pisgah Gardens Cemetery in Brevard, with a memorial service at 2:00 PM at Biltmore United Methodist Church. Rev. Ashley Crowder-Stanley will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.

    We were saddened to learn of Gene’s death. He was a good man in the fullest meaning of the term. A hard worker, a good friend and someone who loved his family very much. His smile will live in our memories forever. We will be lifting you up in our prayers.
