DAVID O’NEIL AUSTIN David O’Neil Austin, 53, of 10825 Big Laurel Road, Marshall, died Friday, November 10, 2000, at his home. Mr. Austin was born in Buncombe County and was formerly employed by Asheville Steel Company. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Keith Austin. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Fender Austin; a daughter, Kim Heatherly of Asheville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Cheri Austin of Candler and Kasey and Peggy Austin of Asheville; his parents, Morris and Frances Powell Austin of Asheville; a sister, Sandra Ingle of Asheville; three brothers, Morris Austin and Ronnie Austin of Asheville and Dennis Austin of Leicester; and six grandchildren, Johnathan, Cody, Christopher, Colt, Trace and Chase. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Jake Fender officiating. Burial will be at Ashelawn Gardens. His family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Sunday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of his parents, 111 Vinewood Circle, Asheville. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Madison County, PO Box 909, Mars Hill, NC 28754. The memorial register may be signed - END -
