James Leon “Jim”
Lunsford, 54, of Route 4,
Burnsville, died Sunday, December
24, 2000, at his home.
Jim was a son of the late
James E. Lunsford. He was an
Army veteran and was a member of
the Harley Owners Group and a life
member of the Rocky Mountain Elk
Foundation.
He is survived by his
wife, Doris Pate Lunsford; one
daughter, Ginger L. Tipton and her
husband Thomas J. of Burnsville;
two grandchildren, Tyler J. Tipton
and Emily B. Tipton of Burnsville;
and by his mother and step-father,
Christina and Vance Hamlin of
Asheville.
An informal gathering of
family and friends will be from 4 - 6
pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home
on Patton Avenue.
His family requests that
in lieu of flowers, memorials be
made to the Smoky Mountain Toy
Run in care of Gene Lummas
