Wayne Carlyle Dance, 61, of 11 Elmwood Lane, died Friday, February 23, 2001 in an Asheville hospital.

A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, he was the son of Helen Honeycutt Dance of Greensboro and of the late Woodrow Wilson Dance.

Mr. Dance was a N.C. Army National Guard veteran and was a former resident of Kingsport, Tennessee where he was a branch manager with the Otis Elevator Company. Mr. Dance was a charter member of the Arden Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Earline Thomas Dance; two sons, Jeffrey Dance of Birmingham, Alabama, Keith Dance of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Trudy Eads of Greensboro; brother, Gary Dance of Greensboro and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by Dr. James H. Diehl, General Superintendent, International Church of the Nazarene.

Interment will be at 4 pm in the New Garden Friends Cemetery in Greensboro.

His family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.
