LEONARD CARL MORGAN, SR.
ASHEVILLE – Leonard Carl Morgan, Sr., 87, Oakley, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011.
Mr. Morgan was born in Morristown, TN, and was a son of the late Charles M. and Evelyn Morgan. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Kuykendall.
He served as an Army Medic during WW II and was retired from the NC Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of the Biltmore Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Craig Morgan; three daughters, Karen Lowe and husband, Jim, of Fairview, Karla Johnson and husband, Joel, of Asheville, and Kay Beachboard and husband, David, of Fletcher; a son, Leonard C. Morgan, Jr., and wife, Carol, of East Moline, IL; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and many loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Biltmore Church of God with the Rev. Phillip Kuykendall, Rev. Dale Whitson and Rev. Daniel Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Saturday at Groce Funeral Home East Asheville on Tunnel Road.
Dear Family,
So sorry to know how much you will miss Leonard, but know how happy and content he is to be with our Lord. He has only joined the family circle in Heaven and awaits each of your arrivals to complete that circle. Look to Jesus as your comfort and He will sustain you every day. Love and prayers,

We know Leonard as a man of great character. He had a tough veneer and a heart of gold. We are honored that he chose to call us ‘grandson’ and ‘daughter’, and look forward to a joyous reunion!
We love Leonard and love you all and you will be in our thoughts and prayers. You have a fine family and loving support and best of all, knowledge that Leonard is now with JESUS, Cathy, Daddy, Warren, Henry, Catherine, Willard, Barbara, Grandma and Grandaddy and all his friends and family who have gone HOME before him. May God Bless you and give you His Peace!
