A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Nancy Rogers Parker. She was a former employee of Southern Bell. Her history with Calvary Baptist Church
started with her attending in 1920 and joining the church in 1925. She was wed to the late William “Bill” Boyd Jr. in 1939 at Calvary Baptist Church.
During there retirement years, Polly and Bill traveled extensively and enjoyed 35 Christian Tours.

Dear Milford and family, What a sad day this is. You will be in my thoughts.
Much Love,
Nancy Lee
(I have always loved my name.)
Pauline was a dear friend to our mother who passed away in 1996. Pauline worked with her at Southern Bell many years ago and they remained friends for years. She was a special lady and I’m sure you will miss her. Our prayers are with all of the family.
Dear Dena and Hugh, so sorry to hear of Pauline’s passing.I remember meeting her several times. She will be missed.
You will be in my prayers!
Polly was so precious. This past Valentine’s Day, I felt an ‘urge’ to give her a little stuffed ‘bear’ as a small gift and asked her to be ‘my Valentine.’ She was so cute about it, and seemed delighted. I was the church secretary at Calvary until just a few weeks ago. Polly sent me note, thanking me for the bear, and telling me she would miss me…..I will treasure that note from her. She sent out birthday cards for the church, and she would come up to the office and get her supplies and sometimes address the cards. I enjoyed our ‘chats’ so much; I’d ask her about her life with her beloved ‘Bill,’ and she loved to share those stories as I loved to hear them. She was an absolute dear, and I will miss her…but I’m glad she’s with her Bill once again! And with Jesus!
We go back to grade school days.
My last message did not enter–so just in case–
Pauline was mother’s (Mary Sue Hawkins) good
friend forever. And ours too as we grew up. She was
our chaperone as teenagers when the Calvary Youth
Choir went to Washington, D. C. and Caswell. We
ate many delicious Pauline meals. We talked and
laughed, talked and laughed–a lot. Just last summer
we stopped by one afternoon while we were visiting
Asheville. We talked about you, her family, and
about Calvary, and about David Letterman. We
left there feeling so glad we had been there–She
always amazed us. We will truly miss her!!!!
Gene and Mary Pfalzgraf
Dear family Pauline was a wonderful influence in my life as I grew up in Calvary, and her beautiful smile will always be remembered. It is a joy to know she has passed over to a wonderful place where there is no sadness.
God Bless and Keep you all.
I just received yesterday, April 2nd, notice of Pauline’s passing. Many years have passed since I last saw or spoke to her, but I remember well her cheerful disposition and affection towards me when I was a young child. I think she was the first one to paint my fingernails when I was about 5 or 6 years old and it was bright red! I was so proud. My parents, Maude Brown and Joe Clontz, were good friends with Pauline and Bill back in high school. I still remember the photos of their camping trips together back around 1940. I’m so glad her niece, Dena, sent me the memorial notice and I want to extend my sympathies to her family. She was a very special lady.
