SAMUEL W. WALDEN CANDLER – Samuel Wayne Walden, 57, of 14 Morgan Branch Estates, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Mr. Walden was born in Asheville and was a son of the late Walter Pete Walden. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Cameron. He worked 33 years for APAC Carolina and he attended Pole Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda Harding Walden; a daughter, Kristen Williams and her husband, Jay; two grandchildren who were the joy of his life, Cole and Karter Williams; his mother Artie Elizabeth Brown Walden; three sisters, Becky Middleton and husband, Bob, Karen Moore and husband, Jim, and Kathy Cochran and husband, Trace; a brother, Larry Brown and his wife, Pat, ; his in-laws, James & Helen Hardin, many special nieces and nephews, Luke Cameron, Scott Brown, Stan Brown, John Middleton, Allan Middleton, Cassie Middleton, Clint Moore, Tanner Moore, and Carson Cochran; a godchild, Jordan Cochran; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaitlyn Brown, Hannah Middleton, Garrett Middleton, Hyatt Middleton, and Kalea Middleton; and his beloved Yorkie, Sophie. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Pole Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 96 Snow Hill Church Road, Candler, NC 28715.
