Asheville ~ Gladys Rickman Fisk, 93, died Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at her residence.
Born in Tennessee, Mrs. Fisk lived in Flint, MI for 50 years then moved to Asheville, where she resided for the past 25 years. She was a daughter of the late Charles Rickman and Orby Thurmond Rickman and wife, for 71 years, of the late James Carlisle Fisk, who died in 2001. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Perrone, who died in 1995.
Mrs. Fisk was a member of Arden Presbyterian Church, where she was involved with Bible study groups. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, was a Scout troop leader, a choir mother of children’s choir and bell ringers at church, a baseball team mom and a lunch room volunteer at school.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Zeller of Brecksville, OH; two sons, Phillip Fisk and Charles Fisk, both of Asheville; seven grandchildren, Mary Lynn Fisk, Christopher Fisk, Jeffrey Fisk, Ty McLean, Andy Zeller, Sarah Zeller and Natalie Fisk and a brother, Russell Rickman of Flint, MI.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Rev. Ken Crabb officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

I hope you remember who I am. I saw the obituary in the Journal and thought back about all the good times when we lived next door to you at Silver Lake. My sincerest condolences to you all.
