Asheville, NC ~ Robert B. Boreman, 57, of 28 South Oak Forest Drive, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at his residence. Born in Abilene, Texas and raised in Ashland, Ohio, Mr. Boreman is a son of Virginia Kuhn Boreman of Ashland, Ohio and the late Robert Eugene Boreman. Mr. Boreman was a graduate of Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio with a BS in Economics and worked with the National Climatic Data Center. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Cuban missile crisis. Mr. Boreman is survived by his wife, Sherry Mackey Boreman of Asheville; a daughter, Kara J. Rice of Morehead City; a son, Trent R. Boreman of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Kyle Alexander Rice, Dakota Ashley Boreman, Kaylen David Rice, Kameron Tyler Rice and Zachary Layne Boreman; three sisters, Malena Puster of Ashland, Ohio, Nancy Young of Hayesville, Ohio and Judy Mowrer of Wooster, Ohio, and one brother, Tom Boreman of Wooster, Ohio. A funeral service will be held Friday at 12:30 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, 72 Long Shoals Road, Arden, NC 28704 with Rev. Don Welborn officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Episcopal Churchyard, in Fletcher, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice of one of the United Way agencies.

    I worked with Bob for almost six years at the Climatic Data Center, two of which were with him in the Satellite Department. He was a wonderful person to work with, and I always enjoyed his company and conversation. I was very saddened to learn of his passing. My deepest sympathies to you at this difficult time.
