Howard Watson Green, Jr., 43, of 920 Monte Vista Road, Candler, died Monday, October 22, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Green was born in Asheville and was a son of the late Howard W. Green, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Nettie and Watson Green and Cecil and Pauline Coin.

He was a 1978 graduate of Enka High School and had been employed as executive chef at the Pisgah Inn for 13 years. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

He was a loving husband, terrific father, and wonderful son and is survived by his wife, Sharon Weiss Green and his mother Helena Coin Green. His children include Angela Michelle Donahue, Emily Jane Donahue, Jeffrey Shane Donahue, Nicholas Bryce Donahue, Elijah B.W. Green and all his “children” at Pisgah Inn.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene King officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations to the family will be appreciated.

  2. I only knew Howard as a good friend during our High School years together. At that time he was a great friend to me. I am sorry that Howard and I lost touch with one another. Howard was truly a fine fellow and will be missed by all that knew him. My deepest sympathy to his Mother, Wife and Children.
