Roy K. Shroat

Roy K. Shroat, 81, formerly of 612 Wilson Street, Asheville, died Saturday, December 13, 2003. Mr. Shroat was born in Buncombe County and was preceded in death by his parents Robert A. Shroat, Sr. and Ethel Kuykendall Shroat, and by two sisters Annie E. Shroat and Ruth Shroat. His early career was in sales with Clark-Fowler Wholesale Co. and more recently he was a self-employed painter. He had previously attended Biltmore Baptist Church. Surviving are one brother, Robert A. Shroat, Jr. and his wife Alene Reese Shroat of Asheville and two nieces Susan Pike of Candler and Cynthia Shroat of Panama City, FL. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Ashley Crowder Stanley officiating.
