Junior G. Gasperson

A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Gasperson was the son of the late Harry Gasperson and Bessie Carland Gasperson Fletcher and the husband of the late Hazel Lewis Gasperson who died in 1996. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Philip and Robert Brown; one sister, Jessie Hare and three brothers, Kelly, Herman and Roy Gasperson.

Mr. Gasperson was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Sayles Biltmore Bleachery following thirty years of service.

Survivors include a son, Scott Gasperson of Arden; a sister, Lois Evans of Asheville; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Reverend Cecil Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
