Charlotte and Family, Bill was a part of my childhood as we attended Vance, Hall Fletcher, and Lee Edwards together. While he was not able to be a part of the Class of 43 Activities we always knew he was with us in spirit. Regardless of age, health, or any other circumstance we are never ready to give up our loved ones. The only comfort comes from a Faith in the Sovereignty of God and the concern of caring friends. Please know we are thinking of you at this time.
Joe Clark
Charlotte, you have my thoughts and prayers through this time of grief, my long-time friend. I am with you and your family in spirit and in remembering all the fun times that we shared, esp. trying to pose five boys with you and Bill for a family Christmas card! Love, Jane Anne
I am very sorry for your loss. Bill was a wonderful person that took me into his company by stating ‘Welcome to my family.’ He will truly be missed. God Bless each of you.
We were in school and the Boy Scouts together. He is one of my favorite people of my life.
Charlotte, you are in our thoughts and prayers during this trying time. We have many fond memories of ‘the good old days’ and will sorely miss Bill. Mary and Gene
Charlotte and the Extended Harrison Clan,
I was saddened to learn of Bill’s death. I was in Asheville for Christmas with Mom and Dad and the rest of the Hutchison clan.
I remember fondly all of the good times in Troop 3 and at Camp Daniel Boone. There never was a better, more caring and dedicated scoutmaster than Bill. I count myself so fortunate to have been one of his charges in Troop 3. He was a living example of what scouting is all about.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We left Asheville this morning (Sunday)so we will be unable to be with you in person. Bill certainly left his mark on me and countless others who came through the ranks of scouting.
God bless you all and keep you in the palm of his hand.
Fondly,
Daren and Pris Hutchison
Dear Jeff, Charlotte and family,
I know that your father was a wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers are truly with you at this time. How wonderful to know that he is in Heaven and that you will all be together again! Blessings of comfort and peace to you all.
From a ’43 Lee H. Edwards classmate.
Bill, your fine reputation is one we
will always remember and cherish.
God bless your family as they adjust to a life with love for one another that will slowly be rekindled with your omnipotent love that follows your passage to that eternal home in the sky.
Your classmate,
Ray Estes

Charlotte and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Uncle Bill’s passing. I think of him with much fondness. He had such a wonderful sense of humor and memories of his stories bring such a smile to my face. I always appreciated the interest he took in Marshall and my girls.
What a comfort it is to know that Bill is now in his heavenly home! God bless you all during this difficult time.
Love,
Tammy Harrison
Mrs. Harrison my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
DEAR CHARLOTTE & FAMILY, MAY GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW AND BILL’S CELEBRATION. HE WAS A GOOD MAN AND AN EXAMPLE FOR ALL OF US TO TRY AND FOLLOW. THANKFULLY, HE IS NOW FREE AND NO LONGER SUFFERING. IF I CAN HELP IN ANYWAY, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL.
Dear Mrs. Harrison: Ho sad that we lose our soul mates but to be out of the body is to be with Christ Jesus. I have known Bill since childhood, thru school and the years after. I am so sad over his departure from such a wonderful life as he has lived. Praise God that he was able to work for the Lord in his church and with the scouts. We attended church together many Sundays at Balm Grove now Trinity Methodist in West Asheville. Have played many a day in his home and had lunch with his wonderful, beautiful mother when we were children. I shall never forget the entire Harrison family. Our deepest sympathy to all of the family. May God bless you. Louise and Henry May 6828 Lockrdige Drive, Doraville, GA 30360-1515.
I grew up with Bill in our West
Asheville congregation of the Methodist Church. I invited Bill when he was a student at UNC-Chapel Hill to a dance at Greensboro College. He came. Always enjoyed seeing him at class reunions. So sorry his great talent is now gone.
God bless all of you in the family.
With sincere condolences to the Harrison families. Bill was a fine person, and showed this more by deeds and actions than by words. I am thankful for the opportunity to have met him, and to have witnessed his faith as he expressed it by example.
Dear Mark: I heard from Bill Murdock about the passing of your father and wanted to extend my condolences to you and your family. Your father and I shared the same birthday, and this coming year I will say a prayer for him on that day. Take care and God bless.
