Elaine Ownbey Beall

Elaine Beall, 61, of Blue Mountain Road, died Monday, September 5, 2011, at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Taft and Pearl Marlowe Ownbey and was also preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Lamb. Elaine was a member of Nesbitt's Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired after a career with Toyota. Her greatest joy was her family and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Elaine is survived by her husband William Beall; daughter, Angela Hancotte of Phoenix, Arizona; step-daughter, Jennifer Golden of Palm Beach, Florida; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Juanita Morgan of Oakley and three brothers, Arthur (Maxine) and Wallace ( Hope) Ownbey of Fairview and Lawrence (Agnes) Ownbey of Mt. Mourne, NC and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday at Nesbitt's Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 at the church and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family wishes to thank all the friends and neighbors who have been so supportive during Elaine's illness.
