Alfred Vaughn Robinson, 68, of Leicester, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Baptist Hospital, in Winston Salem. A native of Madison Co., Alfred was a son of Clara Robinson and the late Leland Robinson. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Adams, Bernice English, and Mildred Frasier; and brother, William Robinson. Mr. Robinson proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Later in life, he retired from the Grove Park Inn. Mr. Robinson enjoyed camping in Pigeon Forge, where he had made many friends over the years. He was also quick to lend a helping hand to his son-in-law, Mark. His true pride & joy was his grandson, Justin, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond. In addition to his mother, Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna Jackson Robinson; daughter, Stephanie Hannah and husband Mark; grandson, Justin Hannah; and sisters, Judy DiCarlo and Mary Fowler. The funeral service for Mr. Robinson will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel, with the Revs. Steve Honeycutt and Charles Phillips officiating, with military honors provided by the North Carolina Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.

During our 50th class reunion we prayed for Alfred and his family..you and your daughter son-in-law and your grand child.. Are in our thoughts and prayers.
