Alice R. Plemmons

Arden – Alice Eleanor Royer Plemmons, 92, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Charles George VA Medical Center.
Mrs. Plemmons was born in Buncombe County to the late Harry R. and Lillian S. Royer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell W. Plemmons in 1987, blessed in 40 years of marriage and now reunited in Heaven. Also preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Ferguson Roberson and Betty Royer Dutcher.
Alice was a Veteran of WWII having proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard Women's Reserve, stationed in Boston, MA. She was an active member of Biltmore Baptist Church and the Homemakers Class.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan D. Peterson and her husband and loving son-in-law, Zeb; granddaughter, Kelly P. Atkins and her husband, Jason; great granddaughter, LaRae Atkins; great grandson, Mason Atkins; grandson, Christopher Peterson; a brother, Joe Royer and his wife, Rose of Clyde, NC and many nieces and nephews.
Entombment with a graveside service will be Monday, December 29, 2014 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 10:00 AM with Reverend Sam McLamb officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28 at Groce Funeral at Lake Julian in Arden from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

Those we love who pass away live on in us through our memories. Alice was a gracious and lovely person. I enjoyed spending time with her and hearing her stories about being in the Coast Guard. She always made me feel like part of her family and she will greatly missed.
